Joe Cross built the Solarium over 20 years ago and helped deconstruct it in June 2024. Joe's wife Kandy Cross was the head teacher at BBS after Toni Foster.

Shane Lundgren donated the Solarium to BBS. It was originally at the Conklin Guest House in Sisters

The Solarium was dismantled and transported to it's new location at Rainshadow Organics Farm

Thank you Shane, Joe, and crew!

Asbestos Abatement: all entry points were sealed off to prevent asbestos exposure

Careful removal of the asbestos with a sealed portal to the secure dumpster

The access road had to be approved by the Forest Service. Black tarp was laid down before the gravel

The Laydown Yard covers much of the field and is for staging materials and construction vehicles

View of Laydown Yard beyond the playground. All the gravel will be removed at the end of the project and grass replanted

Toilets removed! The old bathroom space will be turned into a secure entrance vestibule and front office

The interior of the building has been gutted. Old carpet piled high in the dumpster
